Pier liked to wield a huge sword to defeat his puny enemies... We don't quite have a 7 foot two-hander in the house, but we do have plenty of other cutlery to greet burglars with if all else fails (which it won't)...

The closest thing we have to Pier's weapon of choice is this LotR Anduril replica... About 1.3m in length...



Looks nice on the wall, ey? And yay for crappy cellphone photo's... Let's have Viggo show us this thing in a better picture...



Also adorning a wall is a little dagger...



Nothing special by any means, but it looks nice. And it's something nice to drive into the eye socket of a burglar or ninja...

A world war II era ceremonial sword we have yet to find a place for on the wall:



We also have a nice Katana/Wakizashi replica set, but it's still in a box somewhere, so no photo.

However...

...we do have another wakizashi, which actually IS something special... This sword dates from the time of Greate Pier, as it was forged in april of 1505. And it's still in very near mint condition after more than 500 years...

I imported it from Japan as a gift for our 3rd anniversary. Years later I still get hugs and fed well because of it <_< It comes complete with 2 copper chopsticks and a knife integrated into the scabbard. It was wartime in Japan at that time, so maybe it saw some action, who knows...

Any of you have some nice cutlery for battle or decorative purposes?

I myself do not have any weapons at home, but the CotD project has me tempted to find something nice. It should be something that resembles the way swords were made around the time of Pier of course!

Perhaps you could go for the authentic "Zweihander", the type of sword Pier is said to have wielded? :)

Haha, lol. Yeah, you gotta keep the balance a little bit. But it could be awesome if you had some sorta replica to decorate the Triangle Studios company building with, for example. :)

How about you go to Sneek and try to buy Pier's helmet? Then you can use it as a vase to put flowers in. xD

Which is hereby fixed... We finally got around to getting it out of the box and onto the wardrobe in the bedroom.



The 1500's Wakizashi I mentioned in the first post is actually not on display currently, as I first want to build a nice, sturdy. custom display case to safely keep it in.

Each of those could easily be used to kill someone... It's the way you use an object which makes it a weapon or not I've got a peanut butter jar in front of me, I'm sure I could do some fatal damage with that

As much as I would love to put that in CotD, we're trying to be as historical correct as possible of course. Unfortunately, body-part-sewing-killerninja's aren't a part of that

She got sting(sword of Bilbo and later Frodo) got the sword of Gandalf (forgot his name) and a smaller replica of the Anduril sword.
