In the previous post in this series, we talked about creating our own terrain tool as the one we used wasn’t flexible enough for our needs. The other tool didn’t allow for easy blending between multiple terrains. Erik has spend quite some time on it and today we can show you the results :). We’re now able to create beautiful tiled terrains. Our tool supports multiple tiles sets, which can easily blend into each other. It also has the option for random tiles in order to break patterns.
We’ve also released it in the Unity 3D Asset store as a Unity plugin, so other developers are also able to create stunning looking tiled terrains. The video below display what the tool can do.
Now that the designers are able to create terrains to our liking, the developers can move on to the next challenge, lighting.
